Lips Uncurled, Eyes Forward (LUEF) is a grassroots social art exhibition that focuses on presenting Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) narratives across multiple platforms to tackle asian stereotypes, stigmas, and agency.

About this event
This year's exhibition features the intergenerational stories of AAPI women artists, poets, community and mental wellness leaders. The event will also host the official book launch of "Not Your Masi's Generation", a memoir and workbook on generational trauma and mental wellness by ASHA, artist, poet, revolutionary.
Additional programs include a writing workshop, community resources, social art activities, and more.

*Writing Workshop is for youth and young adults ages 13-26 and is based on the workbook "Not Your Masi's Generation" by ASHA. This workshop will be facilitated inside the gallery by Janice Lobo Sapigao, Santa Clara County Poet Laureate. Space is limited to 12 people to ensure social distancing and quality of experience. Each registrant will receive a coffee beverage and a copy of "Not Your Masi's Generation". This is a free workshop but we encourage a sliding scale donation of $5-20. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
**Livestream - This program will be livestreamed on Instagram at @LipsUncurled.EyesForward . Recordings of the panel discussion and poetry performances will be made available with captions and posted on YouTube post event.
This is a donation-based event. Please consider making a $5-20 suggested sliding scale donation to the event (no one turned away due to lack of funds). A percentage of proceeds collected will aid India and Palestine.

Parking: There is metered street parking during the day and it will be free after 6PM. There is also free neighborhood parking. Please be respectful to the neighborhood and read parking signs carefully.
